Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in Bellevue, Washington, on 5 July 1994. The company started as an online market for books but extended to sell electronics, video games, software, apparel, food, toys, furniture and jewellery.

Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in 5th July 1994. He chose to Seattle there because of technical talent as Microsoft is located there. In May 1997, the group went public. The company started selling music and videos in 1998, at that time it began operations internationally by obtaining online sellers of books in United Kingdom and Germany. The subsequent year, the organization also sold video games, home-improvement items, consumer electronics, games, software and toys in addition to other items.
